What is
HiperLAN?
HiperLAN is a wireless LAN standard developed by the
Broadband Radio Access Networks (BRAN) division of
the European Telecommunications Standards Institute
(ETSI).
Is it same
as 802.11a?
Not exactly. There are some similarities between both
of the technologies but theses are not entirely same.
Whom do I
need to ask when I want to install and operate a HIPERLAN/2
network?
The frequencies are available in most European countries,
in the US and in Japan. Currently, efforts are ongoing
to make frequencies available in other countries,
possibly on a world-wide basis.
